Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK)
Online Enrollment

Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) is a state-funded, free three-hour per weekday early learning program designed to prepare children for success in kindergarten. The School District of Lee County utilizes the state VPK funding to provide a full-day, comprehensive PreK program. There is no charge for the additional 3 hours provided for the program. Students enrolled in the SDLC VPK program follow the Elementary School instructional day hours and calendar.

Step 1

Requirements: Your child must be 4 years old by September 1st of the upcoming school year. You and your child must reside in Florida.

You must obtain a VPK Certificate of Eligibility (COE) from the Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida in PDF format before applying for any VPK program. The Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida typically does not begin accepting applications until after January 1st for the upcoming academic year. They are a separate entity from the School District of Lee County.

Step 2

Once approved, a certificate of eligibility will be available for download in Florida's Early Learning Family Portal account. This certificate will be required to enroll your child in the School District of Lee County's VPK program. Download and save the PDF.

Step 3

Please note that space is limited, and applications are processed in the order they are received.
